(There is an audio reading of this text. Just click the "play audio" button above to listen.)
Solomon Bash's son, Charles, built this home in 1877, the same year his sister Elnora built her home next door. Charles was involved in numerous business interests and was instrumental in bringing natural gas to the city of Fort Wayne. His home was the first in the entire city to be lit by gaslight.
This home has belonged to the owners of the Castle Gallery since 1976. It was a 7 unit apartment for many years, but the owners have decided to convert it back into a single-family home and move here once they sell the Castle Gallery building.
Continue down Wayne Street, cross Rockhill, and you'll be at the next stop.
