This home was built in 1914 by architect Joel Ninde for Samuel and Flora Mulholland. Samuel was in charge of the street railway system in South Bend before moving to Fort Wayne in 1908, where he worked as the general manager of the Indiana Lighting Company. The gas company was purchased and renamed the Northern Indiana Public Service Company, and Samuel was promoted to Vice President and manager of 11 locations. The Fort Wayne location, which cost the company $3.5 million to build, was considered the most modern gas plant in America, a monument to the vision of Samuel Mulholland.

Mulholland was extremely active in the Fort Wayne community, helping to organize the Chamber of Commerce, raise funds for the war, and serving on multiple boards and positions for non-profit groups and fraternal organizations around town. Samuel and Flora lived here with their 2 sons.

This house was given an ARCH award in 2019 for their conversion back to a single-family home, restoration of the front porch (which was previously enclosed), and exterior repairs under homeowners Michael and Terri.

Next, head down Washington towards Swinney Park, then take a right onto Thieme Drive.
