Information

The Berryman-South Reservoir is an extension of the Berryman Reservoir next to Codornices Park. The Berryman Reservoir was created in 1877 when Henry Berryman, a Berkeley developer who founded the Berkeley Water Works company, dammed Codornices Creek. The Berryman-South Reservoir is a towering circular structure located at the base of the Claremont Canyon Regional Reserve directly along Claremont Creek. EBMUD drained this reservoir and took it out of service in 2006 due to structural issues.
