Hundreds take part in National Night Out events in Ithaca, Newfield

Free food, music and entertainment attracted hundreds of people to Conway Park in Ithaca Tuesday to celebrate the 30th annual National night Out.

The event serves to build links between law enforcement and members of the community.

Brenda Westfall, Executive Director of the Ithaca Housing Authority, helped organize the event with the help of dozens of volunteers.

“This event gives a number of [police officers] an opportunity to be in the same place with a large population of the community,” Westfall said.

Similar events were held at Ithaca’s Titus Towers and the Newfield Fire Hall Tuesday.
