This stately pre-Confederation building was built by stone mason James Scott. It is in classical Revival style with gable roof, decorated corners, and an octagonal cupola centred on the roof.

George Brown, a former reeve, operated a store here in 1863. From 1905 to 1928 the ground floor was used by the Bank of Ottawa and then by the Bank of Nova Scotia until 1970. A famous bank robbery took place here in 1938.The building was purchased by the Loyal Orange Lodge in 1928 and the upper floors have been used for lodge meetings and social gatherings since then. Its ground floor has housed several different retail stores since 1970.
