"Mary, Mather of the Church is the faithful of God formed from diversity into one Christian community who join to worship and serve God and neighbor, through a loving tithing of time, talent, and treasure, shown with heroic courage toward all God's children, for His
Greater Glory in union with the prayers of Mary, the Mother of Jesus our Lord and God"
We are the faithful of God. First and foremost we are drawn together because of our
Catholicism. We are diverse- drawn from different nationalities, professions, educations and
social status. Our mission statement calls us to embrace everyone as part of the greater body
that is our parish.
We are drawn together for the greater purpose of worshipping God and serving both God and
neighbor. It is not enough to simply show up for Mass, our mission statement calls you to
make God part of your daily life, serving Him and all of His children by whatever means
available. Your time—whether it's volunteering to help with the liturgy or helping with a
youth event. Your talent, whether it's making candy for the bazaar or providing conversation
with a lonely soul. Your treasure—tithing to help meet the needs of the parish, and the
diocese, and to help others in need.
We are called on to do this with "heroic courage". As Catholic men, women, and children it is
not always easy to do what we are called to do in our mission statement. When faced with
difficulty in fulfilling our mission, we must remember that courage is a gift we received from
the Holy Spirit in the Sacrament of Confirmation.
Our Patroness, Mary, is also included in our mission statement. As we pray for greater faith,
courage, and a clear path to follow, Mary is with us, and joins in our supplication.
As members of MMOC you should all be aware of the parish mission statement. It is used by
all of the parish organizations as a "roadmap" to finding our way as a Catholic Parish. We
make our way using this roadmap, ensuring that all paths we take are towards His Greater
