Point of Interest Details

Though their foliage and fleshy cones are nearly identical, Juniperus virginiana and Juniperus chinensis take different forms and originate in very different parts of the world. J. virginiana, or Eastern Red cedar, originates along the Eastern coast of North America and can grow to 60 to 80 feet tall, while J. chinensis comes from Northeast Asia and takes the form of a shrub that is often found in ornamental gardens around the world.
