Point of Interest Details

Welcome aboard the motorship Mount Washington. As we leave the dock, we ask your attention to some important safety items.

Please use caution as you move about. Remember that this is a historic ship and that decks, stairs, doorways and passageways may not be level or standard as found in your home. Watch your step at all times and use the handrails provided.

We ask that those of you accompanying small children supervise the children closely and not permit running, jumping or climbing. We also ask that anyone carrying a small child please keep away from the railings when on the outside deck.

Personal flotation devices are located on all three decks. In the event of an emergency, a crew member will assist you in accessing a PFD and will direct you to your emergency station. Thank you for your attention. If you have any further questions, please ask any crew member.

Ladies and gentlemen, we would like to welcome our Wolfeboro passengers to Lake Winnipesaukee. This is New Hampshire’s largest lake and the third largest natural body of fresh water entirely within a single state. IT has an area of just over 72 square miles, over 180 miles of mainland shoreline, and a maximum depth of just over 200 feet. There are 365 islands, ranging in size from over 1000 acres to small rocks that grow a single bus. It’s glacial in origin and is largely spring-fed. Most island residents still pump their water directly from the lake with mini al additional treatment. We ask your help in keeping our lake as clean as it is by depositing any trash you have in the containers located around the ship. WE are now proceeding on our return trip to Weirs Beach.
