The Avenue Concept South Side + West End Tour 2023

Providence, Rhode Island 02906, United States

Created By: The Avenue Concept

Tour Information

This South Side + West End Providence driving tour takes you through a number of public artworks produced and installed by The Avenue Concept.

On the tour, you will find mural installations from international and local artists that span different techniques, themes, and styles. While this is a driving tour, be sure to get out (as you are able), look at the work from different points of view, and pay attention to the layers of meaning. These works are some of our most complex installations and are worthy of a long look.

At each stop

You can learn more about the artwork by watching videos and reading more in the app. Dig deeper and explore each piece by considering our ~Take A Closer Look~ questions. If you are really enjoying your adventure, pull out a pen and paper and answer some of these more in-depth creative prompts in our Art Explorer creativity guide.

What is The Avenue Concept?

The Avenue Concept is the leading nonprofit public art organization in Rhode Island. Our team imagines public art installations, works with artists to help implement those projects and then shares the stories of those artists and artworks with the community in order to make our cities more beautiful, livable, viable, and safe. With your help, we make public art happen. As a nonprofit, we rely on people like you to help through financial support, volunteering, and sharing what we do with your friends and family. Thank you!
