Starting out this tour the first stop will showcase 2 different trees. The Staghorn Sumac (Rhus typhina) Common Chokecherry (Prunus virginiana). These trees can be found on the right hand side of my yard, on the edge of the woods without haivng to actually enter the woods. I included these trees because I personaly find them pretty cool. You will notice a trend throughout this tour i tend to like the red colors on trees. The staghorn sumac is cool beacause of the vevelt on the branches, they are fuzzy to the touch, and get their name because they resemble a stag's horn.
This point of interest is part of the tour: Dendrology Final Walking Tour
