Thomasville mail service was provided at a variety of locations in town for 73 years before Thomasville's first Federal Building was built in 1926. The Post Office served the community in that capacity until 1963. The building was bestowed to the city by the federal Government in 1972, and now serves as hoome to the Parks and Recreation Department.
