From 1937, retired school teacher John Blair, and his wife, Mary, made their permanent residence at 16 Tuart Street, named Brae Neuw (meaning Brand New).45 He served as Mayor of Bunbury (1939-43), and is commemorated in Blair Street, Bunbury.46 A photograph shows 16 Tuart Street during the Blairs’ residence.47 (Photograph 16 Tuart Street, n.d.
