The memorial was built in 1921 to commemorate the 15 men of Passenham and Deanshanger who fell in the First World War. It was unveiled by the Rt Hon Lord Penrhyn on 20 March 1921, costing £110.
Following the Second World War, additional inscriptions were added to commemorate the fallen in that conflict.
The memorial is recorded by the Imperial War Museum. It is not the only War Memorial in the village. In the Conservative Club, there is also a memorial to those who died in the Boer War and there are 2 Rolls of Honour in the Community Centre.
