At this point, you can decide to take one of two routes. If you take the more difficult trail to the left, you will walk a narrow ridge along the lakeshore where you may see otter scat and harebells in bloom. Or take the easier trail to the right. Either way, you will pass a small sedge meadow that lies between the easy trail and the lake. Bluejoint grass is one of the predominant plant species in this sedge meadow.
