After 25 years as a metalsmith and jewelry teacher, Genevieve Hunt started watercolor painting classes with Alison Wells and Jay Ryan during the early 2020 pandemic as a way to stay engaged as an artist. Since then she has devoted herself full time to watercolor painting with the intention of creating a visual record of local coastlines and documenting impacts due to climate change. She is a member of 6 1/2 Bridge Street Gallery in South Dartmouth, MA where she currently exhibits her paintings. Genevieve also has exhibited her work locally at the Dartmouth Cultural Center and the Marion Art Center. She has a BA in Psychology from the University of Southern Maine and an ALM in Sustainability from Harvard University.

Kim Barry is a painter, potter, sculptor, and art educator. She graduated from Rhode Island School of Design with a BFA in Sculpture and from University of Massachusetts/Dartmouth with an MFA in Painting. Kim has lived in the south coast of Massachusetts most of her life. Her work is informed by this beautiful, coastal environment and the natural objects she encounters. Ms. Barry states, “My pockets are always full of shells and the bits I discover along my walks. Through deep observation and my intimate response to the natural world, I find a bounty of inspiration for my paintings. My subject matter such as fruits, flowers, veggies, or shells can often reference the human form, gesture, memory, emotion, sensuality or simply capturing the energy of a time and place.”
Plein air painting is also a big part of Ms. Barry’s process stating, “I am invigorated by the experience of painting out in nature chasing the movement of the clouds, water, light, and vegetation. The goal is to capture the essence of what I am sensing in that place, at that time of day and season. It could be a windy, sunny, autumn day in the marsh or a quiet, misty, summer morning at the harbor.”
Ms. Barry is also the owner of Clay Trout Pottery where she makes unique plant pots and sculpted, glazed tiles.
