Fraternity and sorority houses constitute the second largest category of residential land use in Cornell Heights after private, single-family homes. Many opulent, formerly private homes have been taken over by Greek letter and independent societies, and several societies built their own lodging houses in the district.

This Tudor Revival building was built around 1927 for the Seal and Serpent Society, an independent fraternity at Cornell.
