Will provide ongoing demonstrations throughout the Tour weekend. When one comes to watch the demonstration at this studio, viewers will wear special glasses that filter out the radiation of wavelengths and intensities that can seriously damage the eyes as well as visible light that is bright enough to make it difficult to see the work being done. Demonstrations include, but not limited to, pendant and bead making, small vessel blowing, and mushroom versus jellyfish implosion pendants.

Glass can change its shape over and over again, using many different methods. In this studio, different methods of glasswork can be seen here. The one that will be demonstrated is lampworking. Lampworking is a type of glass work that uses a torch to melt and shape the glass. Once the glass is heated to a molten state, the lampworker then blows, shapes and molds the glass with tools, gravity, and handwork.

Another type of glass work at this studio is glass fusing. Glass fusing is the process of layering different pieces of glass that are then melted in a kiln. This is great for making small pieces of jewelry or earrings, or slumping the flattened glass into bowls, and other 3-D shapes.

One other glass technique at this studio is bottle melting. As different glass melts at different temperatures, it is always a fun surprise when opening the kiln. Glass etching can be used to then decorate the bottle. Newlyweds love to have a keepsake of their first toast as a married couple and slumping their wine bottle, then etch their initials is a popular glass request.

The studio is located in my easily accessed garage. There is ample parking and signs pointing the way.
