Carol Way Wood, artist and illustrator, grew up in New England in a family of artists and nature lovers. Her inherited talent and love of animals are apparent in her whimsical watercolors. She sold her first painting at 14 years old and has been freelancing as an artist/ illustrator ever since. She creates a detailed pencil drawings on tracing paper, working out subject matter and composition. Then transfers the drawing to watercolor paper and paints with watercolors in a dry brush process. She has illustrated 6 books and is working on a 7th. Carol has also created a line of prints, greeting cards and paperweights.
