460 College Avenue / James Damman House / Architect: Charles Haertling / Style: Rustic Modernism / built 1966
James Damman, who worked for IBM and was a professor at CU, commissioned this cubist design in 1966 from architect Charles Haertling. The house is similar in concept to the Jorgensen home with the rooms suspended on 4, rectangular towers. However, the expression of the budling is more of a modern ski lodge, with large overhanging gable roofs and vertical wood siding. Huge areas of windows and large balconies provide views in all directions.
