Robert Abele has dedicated his life to capturing the essence and beauty of architecture, particularly early New England homes. With a strong educational background, Robert's passion for art has been nurtured and refined over the years.
Robert began his artistic journey at the School of Visual Arts in New York City where he pursued a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. Graduating in 1993, Eager to further expand his knowledge and skills, Robert pursued higher education and graduated from the University of Massachusetts in 2018, earning a Master of Fine Arts degree in painting.
Throughout his artistic career, Robert has developed a profound interest in the architecture of early New England homes, particularly the triple-decker houses found in factory towns such as Lowell, New Bedford, and Fall River. Robert aims to preserve the essence of these homes, ensuring their cultural significance is not forgotten.
For over 35 years, he has been immersing himself in the open air, working directly from nature. This approach allows him to capture the true essence and atmosphere of his subjects. His commitment to Plein Air painting showcases his deep connection with the natural world and his desire to authentically represent it through his art.
Robert's talent and dedication have not gone unnoticed, as his work is held in over 200 private collections, as well as numerous public collections. His ability to capture the beauty of architecture and nature has resonated with art enthusiasts and collectors alike, solidifying his reputation as a respected artist.
In addition to his artistic pursuits, Robert is also a teacher of Fine and Applied Arts at Pilgrim Academy, a therapeutic high school in Plymouth, Massachusetts. Through his teaching, he is able to share his passion for art with students and inspire the next generation of artists.
