Dickison's paintings resonate with a love of Nature. They seek things that may not be visible or audible at first take. His landscapes are like a quiet reckoning of the forest, seeking its mystery, looking for the beings that inhabit there, and making paint speak of experiencing the world of that forest room. His paintings of floral blossoms unfold to a sensuous experience, to seeing them from the point of view of the bee.
The structures he describes in luscious color resonate with the life force that inspired the artist, an emphatic affirmation of painting as a culmination of sensual awareness.
