I am willing to provide ongoing demonstrations throughout the Tour weekend. I love to encourage people to do things they might not do . I'll have pieces of felt visitors can paint on. If someone wants to pose for a 1/2 hour or so I will sketch them . Visitors can watch .

Barbara was a life time dance artist, teacher and studio owner. She is now painting full time and teaching one on one art classes in her former dance studio. Her self taught painting began 3 1/2 years ago in Ft. Pierce, Florida ( where she was living then). In F.P. her goat painting got into a museum show called "the best of the best "at the A. E. Backus Museum which happily shocked her and boosted her confidence to keep painting.

Barbara's younger son asked her to paint a turtle which became the first of three painted A to Z books (so far) inspired by her grandchildren. The first book A TO Z Animals is painted on paper. The second two books were painted on fabric (felt & canvas) before becoming hard cover books. The A to Z theme expanded to designs of wearable art and home decor.

These days she is working on the fourth painted book, painting portraits, astrology stories and is teaching an 8 yr old boy to draw and paint. The class curriculum is based on the Painted A to Z book .His paintings and stories cover one wall of the studio .When he is finished with the Z letter there will be an A to Z show.

Barbara's evolving style is raw, colorful, experimental ,unconventional ,can be whimsical ,sometimes tells stories . Her portraits capture peoples spirits. Barbara’s paintings are a mix of pencil, acrylic, oil sticks, markers and fabric paint. Her favorite quote is “ We never know what's next. Anything is possible “.

Our street entrance has a green handprinted WELCOME sign beneath a large flower arrangement. The studio is to the left of the house in the back. There will be studio signs. Anyone can park on the lawn if the driveway is crowded . The studio has restroom. There are 2 steps up with a railing on the right but it is not handicapped accessible.
