Wisconsin’s largest woodpecker, the pileated woodpecker, is found at Kemp. If you don’t see one “live and in person,” you may hear it’s loud “kak-kak-kak” call or at least see the results of its search for insects, as evidenced in this tree snag. Watch for more evidence of woodpeckers as you continue your walk.
