Kelly Milukas works and teaches in a variety of mediums, among them, encaustic, pastel, water and ink-based paints, and mixed-media-sculpture. In addition to teaching in her RI Studio/Lab, Kelly serves as Artist Instructor for R&F Encaustics, a regular master training instructor for the International Encaustic Conference at Truro Center for the Arts, MA, and a Master’s Circle Pastelist with the International Association Pastel Societies (IAPS), museum programs, private weeklong retreats, national corporate team building and creativity sessions, national residencies with bio-tech science teams, and currently a novel new residency concept with an interiors firm, Taste Design, RI. Channeling Kelly's Art Energy in Multi-Media her work leans abstract, and process driven. She has an unending curiosity for new experiences, knowledge, materials, new ways to wander, to love people, embrace science, and to keep learning how to laugh. “How to paint” is universal, “it’s the response to the experience I share that picks the medium and expression. That’s why I work in multimedia, and my work has many muses and voices." Her abstractions are often the language of celebrating scientific advancements for cures in medicine, or greatly inspired by music, imagination, and the simplest distillation of life’s expanding road trip. The works of whimsy are frequently cows from working farms, and all forms of nature. Kelly enjoys any chance to connect with her love of gleaming barns, funny farm animals, blooms, and the water. These moments become visual records of all that enthralls her.

Encaustic Hot Wax Painting is the oldest painting medium in the world. It must be molten hot to use and fused with blow torches.

Studio is a large industrial building, down the 2nd gravel driveway, with a large parking lot, and meditation gardens.
