In the 1960s, it was common to cover the original brick facades with metal or other materials. These building were no different. For years the brick was covered with a blue metal siding. In 2002, there was a major restoration and the metal covering was removed and the facade was returned to original appearance.
The original location of the Mennonite publishing company, Herald Press, and later a bookstore, Faith & Life Bookstore. The buildings also served as the headquarters for the General Conference Mennonite Church up through 1995. Today, offices for the Mennonite Church USA (MCUSA) are headquartered here.
