1535 Observatory Drive
Built in 1899
Built as the agricultural college’s heating plant, this building also served as a machine shop until 1937 when it became the storage and mailing facilities for Agricultural Bulletin, a unit that facilitated the printing and distribution of publications issued by the college, its experiment stations, and Extension. In 1987, the operation moved to a new space on what is now East Campus Mall. The building is now home to the Center for Integrated Agricultural Systems (CIAS, www.cias.wisc.edu).
