Information

Valentine Nutter, a Captain with the Port Roseway Associates, established a store here in 1783. The property operated as a hotel from 1865 until 1979 under the name Atlantic House. It was donated to the Town which demolished the old hotel and developed Atlantic House Park. Some of the famous people who stayed there in the 1930s when they came tuna fishing were Mayor LaGuardia of New York and Babe Ruth.
