This was the 19th-century home of the large family of William and Sarah Bailey for more than half of a century. They were British immigrants who lived here with their children and various members of their extended family who were associated with the history of coal mining in Erie during the period when the industry dominated Erie’s economy. They were the first and longtime owners and occupants of the house.
