Cornell University Campus Walking Tour

Barton Hall

Information

Orginally designed as a drill hall for the U.S. Army's Department of Military Science, Barton today services as an indoor track and home to the ROTC program and the Cornell Police headquarters. Cornell is the only Ivy League university to offer four brances of ROTC (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines); nearly 500 students participate. The Cornell Police department enforces New York State laws and protects the safety of students on campus. Our safety systems include Blue Light phones, seen everywhere on campus; the Blue Light bus system, providing free transportation after 6pm; and the Blue Light escort service, accompanying students across campus in the evening and late-night hours.
