Information

Novelist Vladimir Nabokov (1899-1977) spent a decade in Ithaca teaching Russian and European literature at Cornell University, but he rarely lived in one place for long. He spent the 1954-1955 academic year living in apartment #30 of the Bellayre Apartments at 700 Stewart Avenue. Nabokov's Lolita (1955) and Pale Fire (1962) are considered to be among the greatest novels of the twentieth century, while his memoir Speak, Memory (1951) has been similarly recognized as a notable work of nonfiction.
