Constructed in 1880, the Wharf facilitated ferry services and, from 1910, bus connections. Hinemoa Park, with its bush backdrop, a bandstand and changing sheds, has been a leisure destination since 1928. Looking toward the east is a vista of the Auckland Harbour Bridge and Te Onewa pa site at Northcote Point. To the West is the pa site of Te Mata-rae-o-Mana, also known as Kauri Point, which towers above the Chelsea Sugar Works.
Begin walking north along Hinemoa Street.
