The Black Crowned Crane lives in the shallow wetlands and grasslands of Sub-Saharan Africa. They mate for life. During mating season, they perform courtship displays that involve calling, bowing, and dancing. Once the eggs are laid, both parents will take turns incubating them. They are omnivores, eating snails, crabs, lizards, seeds, and fruit. The Black Crowned Crane can live for 22-25 years and reach a height of 3 feet.
