Brick Block

Samuel Fogg and Ansel Loring built the Brick Block in 1862. On the right was Cook’s apothecary which was open from 1878-1916. Cook’s carried a “choice assortments of fine drugs and chemicals. During this period the building also housed Marston’s dry goods. Marston’s store did business at this location for over 100 years! From 1878-1916 Leone R Cook operated a store and pharmacy in the Brick Block. Cook’s store was then owned by Archie & Minnie Knapp.
