ARCHITECTURE
The Brown Gymnasium is named after James Graham Brown (1881-1969). Brown made his fortune working for a Timber Industry in the South. He used his money to fund several ventures, like The Brown Gymnasium and the Brown Hotel. When he died, James had his money used to fund both of these places. The Brown Gymnasium has a mark on the side of the building from the flood of 1937, showing the height of the water levels.
