Burgaw Antiqueplace is a long time establishment. It was the backdrop for the film " Freedom Song". It is where the sign that “Freedom Song” was used outside of the building, and the counter remains from the movie.

Freedom Song filmed in 2000 was a made-for-television film based on true stories of the Civil Rights Movement in Mississippi in the 1960s. It tells the story of the struggle of African Americans to register to vote in the fictional town of Quinlan. First released on TNT network, Much of the film was filmed in Burgaw and Wilmington, North Carolina in 1999. The film stared Danny Glover, Vicellous Reon Shannon, and Vondie Curtis-Hall.
