Corner of Scott and Pacific Streets (1845-47)
This redwood and adobe boarding house hosted the first paid theatrical performances in California in the 1840s. Melodramas returned to the stage in 1937 with the Troupers of the Gold Coast in residence for over 60 years. Grab a seat in the recently restored theater and enjoy a short performance by the Monterey Peninsula College Theater Program.
