The Callahan Library, named in memory of Sister Virginia Therese Callahan, C.S.J., in recognition of her dedication and innovative contributions she made to SJC. Opened in 1989, Callahan Library was the first new building on the campus in Patchogue. Sister Virginia, a 1946 SJC graduate, served in various capacities at SJC. She was a chemistry professor, the college's first director of development, and the dean of SJC Long Island.

Current holdings include books, journals, videos, DVDs, audiotapes, etc. A curriculum collection, relevant to teaching, is maintained and updated on a regular basis.

Patrons have access to the Internet and numerous online academic databases. A fully automated library system, Voyager, ensures the efficient retrieval and management of all library resources.
