Canvas is a stunning eight-story, 18,900-square foot photorealistic mural painted by Australian artist Guido van Helten. The mural commemorates the 50th anniversary of the desegregation of Greenville County schools, and according to the artist, it reflects "imagery symboloic of unity and diversity." The work features retired teacher, Pearlie Harris, who helped integrate local schools, as well as students from A.J. Whittenberg Elementary School of Engineering. More than two years in the making, the mural was featured in Architectural Digest in 2020.
