Casa Dr. Balté' - Architect António Vicente de Castro - 1959

Beach house for Dr. Balté from 1959 designed by architect António Vicente de Castro from Portimão and a good friend of architect Manuel Gomes da Costa. They were godfathers to each other's children.

Beautiful 'modernist' vila that looked a bit different in the original design {Photo 2.) than it currently does after the "usual" adjustments - see the extension at the back that caused the external staircase to disappear - that these types of buildings always undergo.
