Casa Folque / Ramirez - architect Raul Lino

House / casa palacete designed in 1926 by the architect Raul Lino, for the Spaniard Sebastian Ramirez, the main manufacturer of canned fish in VRSA and owner of the Hotel Guardiana (now Grand House) further away. Later the house passed to the Folques family.

Raul LIno was an architects who represented the architectural style of the 'Estado Novo' during the Salazar dictatorship. He has designed many government buildings that became a kind of standard in educational buildings and other public buildings.

He is also the author of the well-known book 'Casas Portuguesas' with houses in the 'Estado Novo' style that was called 'Portuguese Suave'.
