At this site, you will listen to audio about the Lục Hoà Buddhist Center in Fields Corner. While many Vietnamese refugees and their descendants are Catholic, many others are Buddhist. Lục Hoà Buddhist Center is one of several active Vietnamese Buddhist temples in metro Boston. The large statue in front of the entrance represents Quan Am (aka Kuan Yin), the bodhisattva of compassion, whose care is especially meaningful to refugees. What is the importance of Buddhist institutions, like Chùa Lục Hoà Luc Hoa Buddhist Center, within the Vietnamese American community in Dorchester?
