Chatham Bars Inn was Built in 1914 by Charles Ashley Hardy, an investor from Concord, Massachusetts. The Inn was originally opened as a hunting lodge and is now comprised of 217 guest rooms which are spread across 25 acres of land.

• 40 rooms are located inside the Main Inn
• 165 rooms are housed in 30 cottages
• 12 suites are located above the Chatham Bars Inn Spa.

In 1987 the Inn became a year-round resort under private ownership. In 1999 Chatham Bars Inn became a part of the Leading Hotels of the World. In 2013 Chatham Bars Inn received the Forbes 4-Star Triple Crown award, for STARS Restaurant, the Hotel and Spa.
