Chestnuts

Mortimer Heritage Trail - walk 1

Chestnuts

Mortimer Common, England RG7, United Kingdom

Created By: Birchwood

Information

Chestnuts was built around 1805 as two cottages by the Hunter family for their employees. They were some of the first houses to be built adjacent to the newly-enclosed common.

For the next stop, rather than continuing along the road, proceed a little way along it, where you will see a path into the faiground, You can then proceed north on the path inside the fairground until you reach the small parking area where you need to re-cross the road to enter the woods at a signed footpath.

This point of interest is part of the tour: Mortimer Heritage Trail - walk 1
