The Back Field is where many of the crops grown on the MARC farm are located. Crops that have been grown here include sorgum, corn, and soybeans. As MARC is a non-profit organization, selling these crops plays a predominant role in funding MARC each year, so they are often looked over with great care and attention. In the winter, these fields are often planted with cover crops such as cereal grains and legumes which reduce the amount of soil erosion over the cold months when more typical cash crops cannot be grown.
