After the Arboretum you will be turning right to cross the land bridge at the end of the large lake. You will see a large drain in the corner of the lake. The lake drains into a small stream that winds down the hill to your left. This water eventually enters Muddy Creek and the Little Miami River. The land bridge is actually a dam that controls flooding downstream during storms. In 2003 the dam was damaged during a large thunderstorm and the park repaired and raised the dam by 4 feet to preserve the lake, stream and walking trails down the hill (D. Allen, personal communication, March 16, 2018).
