HISTORIC HOUSE 124 Elizabeth Avenue Circa 1900: Frank S. Domengeaux This house was built by Rudolph Domengeaux and his wife, Marie Marthe Mouton. They were the parents of Attorney James Domengeaux, and former Judge Jerome E. Domengeaux. Jerome also served as Mayor of Lafayette between 1956 and 1960. James is well known for his long tenure as Chairman of the Council for the Development of French In Louisiana (CODOFIL), and before that, for serving as U.S. Congressman.
