Between 1912 ans 1933, there was a 10 foot high incline in front of the 25 foot high left field wall at Fenway Park. It extended from the left-field foul pole to the center field flag pole. Because of this, a left fielder had to partake in the territory running uphill. Duffy Lewis mastered the skill and the area became known as Duffy's Cliff.
