Ellis Bridge monument

Return to Alternate Route 45, turn left and continue south. In West Point, there is a sign for Route 50 just before the second stoplight. Turn right at that stoplight and reset your odometer. At 4.0 miles you will come to the ELLIS BRIDGE MONUMENT on the right. There is room to pull off the road, and you can walk up to the monument.

Ellis Bridge monument This monument was donated by Possum Town Reenactors, Inc., to commemorate the Battle of Ellis Bridge, three miles west of West Point on Route 50 West. Although not the site of the fighting, it is a fitting and well-maintained remembrance.
