The Emu is the second largest living bird reaching heights of more than six feet. They can be found in the grasslands, savannahs, and deserts across the entire continent of Australia. An inflatable neck sack allows the birds to communicate with sounds that can carry over a mile. Emus get their name from the call they make, which sounds like “e-moo.”
