In the field behind was temple of mercury. Religious services were held in the theatre with processions from the temple. Point out the middle entrance into the theatre was only used by people coming from the temple.

One of the most popular foods ate at the theatre was oysters. Oysters are a specialty food today but in roman times was a common as eating chips or popcorn today. You can still see some of the Oyster shells today.
